Ranch Hope Included in Annual UMC Yearbook

The United Methodist Women of the Greater New Jersey Conference have included pictures of the Ranch Hope ministry in action in their 2010 Yearbook! The Yearbook includes 75 pages of information and Ranch Hope is honored to have been included as a missions project in this year's edition.

Camp Edge Dedicates New Office



Ranch Hope's Board of Directors, Staff and Camp Edge Volunteers gathered on Thursday evening, June 17th for a picnic and the dedication of Office at Camp Edge. Destroyed by a fire, the office was rebuilt due to the efforts of volunteers that helped purchase materials and construct this important component of the camp operations! Camp begins this week!!! H'Olympics Team Travels to Ramapo College


The Ranch Hope Boys & Girls H'Olympic Team traveled to Ramapo Collage last week to compete against student athletes representing the National Fellowship of Child Care Executives membership agencies from around the country! Students competed in Track & Field, Swimming, Softball, Volleyball, Basketball and several academic competitions taking home Gold, Silver and Bronze individual and team medals. Two of our female athletes competed with students from Kurn Hattin Home for Children in Vermont.

Horticulture Class Assists With Mannington Meadows Project

On Tuesday, three students and a teacher from Strang Schools Horticulture Class, along with Ranch Hope's CEO, Dave Bailey, Jr., joined the New Jersey Audubon Society in the 3rd and final phase of the Manninton Mills project; planting approximately 6 acres and 1,300 native shrubs and trees.
"We want to thank you and your students for all your help. We had a very big job to do and you really helped us have a very successful day!" said Beth Ciuzio of the NJ Audubon Society.
The project will restore 12 acres of agricultural ground to forested riparian buffer in an area of the Mannington Mills corporate campus located in Salem County, NJ, approximately 8 miles from Ranch Hope's Alloway Campus.

"By having our students participate in this project, it provided a unique experience for the members of the Horticulture Class," said Dave Bailey, Jr., "additionally, it allowed us to collaborate with the NJ Audubon Society and Mannington Mills." "The Campbell Family and Mannington Mills have been a tremendous supporter of our mission for many years."

Ranch Hope Participates in National Day of Prayer

Team Members and Friends of the Ranch Hope Community joined over 300 in attendance Thursday, during National Day of Prayer Services held at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church in Carney's Point, New Jersey. Sponsored by the Partners of Salem County & the Salem County Chamber of Commerce, the services featured speaker was Ranch Hope's Founder, the Rev. Dave Bailey, Sr..
"The Rev. once again brought a message that inspired and challenged," shared Ranch Hope's CEO, Dave Bailey, Jr., "focusing on Queen Esther and her response to a call from God of action."
Later in the afternoon, Ranch Hope students and staff formed a circle around the flag pole behind Cowan Cottage (Ranch Hope's first treatment home) for an opportunity to give thanks to God for the many blessings he has provided.

Dave Casius Thanked By Rotary Club of Woodstown

The Rotary Club of Woodstown honored community members that have supported the many club projects during its weekly lunch meeting today. Of those honored were Strang School's Graphic Design Teacher, Mr. David Casius. Under Dave's instruction, students have helped in the design and production of tickets and brochures in support of the Club and the Club Foundation.

The Graphic Design Class also provides employment training for youth through its Screen Printing operation designing and producing tshirts, hats and padfolios for over 50 projects this year alone! Projects have included: Woodstown 4th of July Celebration, Woodstown Lacrosse, Aldine UMC Vacation Bible School, Daretown Boy Scout Troop, Salem County OEM 911, and various sports programs. 48 Hour Prayer Vigil at Ranch Hope

Beginning at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 27th, the Ranch Hope Family has been holding a 48 hour Prayer Vigil with team members and volunteers taking 1 hour "prayer shifts" in the Lee Ann Bailey Memorial Chapel.
Ranch Hope's Chaplain, Tim Hunt, came up with the idea after team members had expressed a desire to pray for another member having major surgery on Wednesday morning. The idea blossomed into a vigil taking place over 48 straight hours, with over 25 team members, 5 Board members, and 3 volunteers participating!
By the way, the team member that initially spearheaded the idea came out of surgery in 45 minutes with a prognosis of a full recovery!!!

Freeholder David Lindenmuth is Ranch Hope Good Guy


Freeholder David Lindenmuth shared an inspirational message with students at Ranch Hope last week and was named April's "Good Guy" of the month.
Mr. Lindenmuth who is also the Superintendent of Schools for Oldmans Township School District was presented with the "White Hat" award after his talk.

Spring Sports Award Banquet

The newly renovated Alloway Campus Cafeteria was the setting for the Annual Sports Awards Banquet Thursday night. Sean Redman, former all-state football player at Glassboro HS, running back at Penn State and current Vice Principal at Sterling HS was the keynote speaker. Sean began his career as a direct care worker at Ranch Hope in the early 90s, before completing his Master's degree and moving into public education.
Roger Garrison of Ranch Hope's Rec Therapy program was the evening's MC and presented youth with their awards for participating in 4-on-4 Summer League Basketball, Intramural Flag Football, JV and Varsity Basketball, Softball and H'Olympic Games!
The Eagles were presented with Championship Team Sweatshirts for winning the 2009 Ranch Hope Football League. The Eagles defeated the Panthers "under the lights" during the RHFL's first night game played in a driving rain.
JV and Varsity Basketball players earned trophies for "Mr. Hustle", Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, Most Improved Player and Most Valuable Player.

Administrative Professionals Day



Ranch Hope celebrated Administrative Professionals Day one day early today, with a time of great food and fellowship at the newly opened Helen's Cafe located on Route 540 in Alloway!

Staff enjoyed a great morning in this new destination in Salem County. Our hosts Tim & Nicole provided a delicious buffet.

We are so thankful for all of our administrative professionals and the role they play each day in the lives of children and families! Thank You!

Ranch Hope welcomes Dr. Augustine Chikezie, Pediatric Endocrinologist to Omega Team


Dr. Chikezie is on the staff of A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital as well as his own private practice in New Jersey. We are excited to welcome him to this very important new program. The Omega Project is a program that offers therapeutic resources as well as medical care for young people with diabetes.

Alloway Campus Cafeteria Undergoes Major Face Lift

During the vacation break last week, students helped the Ranch Hope Facilities Maintenance Team remove the current vinyl flooring to make way for the new look in the Alloway campus cafeteria! We are excited for guests to see the new changes at this year's Founder's Day Banquet on May 14.





STARS Reach New Heights at Camp Edge

We received the following email from a staff member at Schalick High School after students were at Camp Edge last Friday!

"Our students had a blast at Camp Edge! On the bus ride home, students were commenting how they all had to get together again soon because of how much fun they had, so thank you for offering such a program.

The acronym for STARS is Students Taking a Right Stand."
